To provide quality and a wider range of cuisine while traveling, IRCTC introduced its e-Catering app ‘Food on Track’ app. With this online delivery app, passengers can order food for long train journey by simply entering basic details such as PNR number. This effective system of online "food delivery on train" not only guarantees you your meal on your train berth but also gives you the opportunity to get revamped railway food menu.
With multiple food aggregators on train stations, travelers are able to enjoy an extensive set of meals ranging from North Indian food on train, South Indian, Pizzas to mouthwatering biryanis, butter chicken and Chinese delicacies, etc.
So, if you’re a frequent traveler or going on a train journey soon, you can simply order fresh and hygienic "food delivery on train" with the help of the ‘Food on Track’ app. Here are some easy steps in order for you to book your meal/food:
- Visit the website www.ecatering.irctc.co.in
- Enter the 10-digit PNR (passenger name record) number
- The passenger, then, has to choose his/her station. The station will be displayed in the drop-down menu.
- Following this, a new page with the vendor menu will open, including the food prices.
- From the menu, the passenger can choose the vendor and its respective food item.
- Then, the passenger has to select the mode of payment.
- After paying securely with any of the payment methods, the order will be confirmed.
The food you ordered will be delivered to your seat on your preferred station. Once the transaction is completed, the passenger and the service provider will receive an email and SMS, which will contain all the details regarding the food item so ordered by the respective passenger.
A verification code (OTP) will also be sent to the passenger, which will be used by the service provider on the mobile application at the time of delivery. Two additional email and SMS will be sent to the passenger regarding:
1. The passenger will receive the first e-mail or SMS, 24 hours before the scheduled delivery time at the station.
2. The passenger will receive the second e-mail or SMS, 2 hours before the scheduled delivery time at the station.
